This year Neighbour Day is on Sept. 23, 2023. It is an opportunity to connect with our neighbours and celebrate the heart and spirit of the community. Knowing your neighbours can help transform neighbourhoods into welcoming, safe and inclusive places to live.

    Neighbor who became my best freind

    Well I would like to talk about my first neighbor when I moved to thunderbay, Dale is a finishing carpenter married who has 2 kids, I met him the first day I moved in 5 years ago, I knew nobody in thunder bay being that we were close to the same at the time 35, I figured we could have beer and chat always good to get along with your neighbor, over the next 4 years he ended up being one of the most reliable and honest people I have ever met, he would take the shirt off his back...     Celebrating Prospect Avenue’s History

    For decades, Prospect Avenue has grown and changed but still retained a sense of old-fashioned neighbourliness. Within walking and cycling distance of green spaces, recreation, schools, and shopping, the neighbourhood community has flourished by supporting people of all ages, abilities, and diversities in a safe and inclusive way.     Mariday Park Snakes

    The Mariday Snakes Bike Club was established early in May 2020 to lift our spirits during the pandemic! Every night after dinner, we meet as neighbors and cruise through the streets of Mariday Park! Every night a different “snake” gets to lead the group around our neighborhood! We have had many new members join the group over the past couple of weeks and we love when we can include all anyone and everyone who want to participate!!! Despite the Global Pandemic, we as a group are enjoying staying active and getting to know our neighbours! ❤️

    Driveway Concerts in our Neighbourhood

    Ridgeway & Cuthbertson Street through out the years have continued to stay connected through annual block parties, passing on Christmas cards to each other and supporting one another when times are tough. During this trying time, Alan Young and Jamie Gerow, who are known in Thunder Bay as musicians, decided they would start playing live concerts from their driveways and backyard patio’s to attract neighbours to come together. Since they were finding that they weren’t able to practice in front of a live audience, driveway concerts with social distancing of course, was a fantastic solution. This has brought great joy...
