Consultation has concluded

The public consultation for the Eye on the Street Renewal Project, now concluded, has provided data to inform a new Code of Practice, which was presented to City Council on June 14, 2021.

Renewal of camera technologies and locations is now taking place. We would like to thank all who participated in the public consultation process.

BACKGROUND

Thunder Bay's Eye on the Street program has been operating in the North and South cores since 2005, and is in need of an update. The renewal project will update cameras and video technology. It will also see new camera locations to address concerns identified by the Thunder Bay Police Service and community organizations.

The renewal is being led by the City of Thunder Bay and Thunder Bay Police Service, in partnership with Tbaytel and with financial support from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
