Consultation has concluded
The Canada Games Complex collected resident feedback regarding re-opening the babysitting service to the public under public health guidelines.
The online survey has now closed. Thank you for your input.
Background
COVID-19 caused the closure of many recreational facilities in March 2020. On Aug. 24, 2020, City Council approved the reopening of the Canada Games Complex. The babysitting service within the facility has remained closed to ensure a safe program can be put in place. Due to expressed demand for the service, staff have been working alongside public health to explore options for reopening in November.
Resident feedback will help us as we prepare for re-opening. While we don’t know what the future will hold, your responses are valuable and will help guide us in areas such as usage and scheduling. All answers are voluntary and will be kept confidential.
Planned modifications to service
Modifications will be made to the babysitting service in order to meet health and safety requirements and offer a safe environment for all participants. These modifications will include:
Pre-booked times each month to ensure participants are in cohorts.
Facility screening.
2 hour time slots per day with a maximum of 8 kids per cohort.
Staff PPE including face masks and face shields.
Only toys that can be wiped down will be used in the room. Fabric toys and other difficult to clean items will be removed.
Scheduled deep cleans between cohorts.
