The City of Thunder Bay is inviting community groups to apply to participate in the Recreation & Culture Division's annual events series. All events are free to the public and collectively draw tens of thousands of attendees. Performance opportunities include over 12 event dates.
Recreation & Culture events include, but are not limited to:
- SnowDay on the Waterfront
- Quest: Tech & Gaming
- Kite Festival
- Canada Day
- Teddy Bears Picnic
- Live on the Waterfront
- Culture Days
In order to be considered for these and other events, applicants will need to complete this online application in full, which includes:
- An internet link to the group's web page or social media account(s).
Please note:
- Incomplete and/or late application may not be considered.
- preference will be given to local community groups that have a mandate, service, and/or programming relevant to the selected event(s) and offer value-added information, activities, and/or giveaway items.
- The City of Thunder Bay has the sole discretion to accept or reject applications (i.e. booths or activities promoting political/religious groups, values, and activities/products not appropriate for a family audience will not be allowed).
- Selection decisions made by City Event Staff will be final.
- While participating in events, community groups are to conduct themselves in a manner that is suitable for a family venue. All selected groups will be required to sign and abide by the City's Community Group Code of Conduct.
- City Event Staff will determine Community Group placement at each event site and date. Placement is not guaranteed from year to year or event to event. Placement decisions made by City Event Staff are final.
- Community Groups will be required to maintain a minimum of $5,000,000 General Liability Insurance. Proof of Liability Insurance listing the Corporation of the City of Thunder Bay as additionally insured. Selected groups will be required to provide proof of insurance before attending an event.
Applications are due by Thursday, February 29th 2024 at 4:30 PM.
