Project Overview
The City of Thunder Bay is updating its Water System Master Plan (WSMP) to ensure safe and reliable drinking water for current and future residents. This study follows the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA) process and will plan for short-term (5-year), mid-term (10-15 years), and long-term (20-year) water service improvements.
The WSMP will:
Assess the existing water treatment and distribution system.
Identify areas for improvement and future expansion.
Protect natural heritage features and wetlands.
Develop a roadmap for investment to support Thunder Bay’s growth.
