Site Visits
Egis Consultants will be in Thunder Bay conducting site visits to photograph, document and evaluate the first 6 heritage properties. The site visits will be to document to exterior of the buildings only. Letter will be sent to property owners to ask permission to step onto their property to fully photograph the buildings, otherwise the assessment will be conducted from public property. Property owners do not need to be on site.
All finalized documentation submitted to City
Egis will have submitted all finalized documentation regarding the first 6 properties to the City by December 31, 2025
Standing Committee - Growth
Five heritage properties, 281 Ray Court, 27 Cumberland St S, 277 Camelot St, 1017 Isabella St E, and 716 Pacific Avenue, were presented to Standing Committee - Growth, for discussion and feedback.
City Council
Five (5) properties were presented to Thunder Bay City Council on May 19th, 2026. City Council voted to accept the Heritage Advisory Committee's recommendations and move forward with formally designating 281 Ray Court, 27 Cumberland St S, 277 Camelot St, 1017 Isabella St E, and 716 Pacific Avenue.
Issue of Notices of Intention to Designate
Following City Council's acceptance of the recommendations for formal heritage designation, Notices of Intention to Designate will be published on May 23rd for 281 Ray Court, 27 Cumberland St S, 277 Camelot St, 1017 Isabella St E, and 716 Pacific Avenue.
Last Day to Serve Objections to Designation
June 23rd, 2026 is the last day for property owners and members of the public to serve objections to the formal heritage designation of 281 Ray Court, 27 Cumberland St S, 277 Camelot St, 1017 Isabella St E, and 716 Pacific Avenue on the City Clerk. No objections will be received after this date.
