Have your say on Dedicated Pickleball Courts

The City of Thunder Bay’s Parks & Open Spaces section maintains a variety of outdoor public pickleball facilities in parks across the city.

Four Dedicated Outdoor Pickleball Courts (using permanent pickleball nets with painted lines) can be found at Boulevard Lake Park.

Multi-use Outdoor Tennis/Pickleball Courts (using tennis nets with both tennis AND pickleball lines) can be found in the following parks:

• Boulevard Lake – 1 court
• County Park – 2 courts
• Oliver Road – 1 court
• South Neebing – 2 courts
• Westfort Playfield – 3 courts
• Confederation – 1 court

There is one pickleball court (with only painted lines on asphalt - no net) located at West End park.

Currently, there are no public dedicated indoor pickleball courts in the city. Pickleball is however, played indoors in various gymnasium locations through member-only club bookings or rental fee programs.

We are looking to gather feedback and input on existing and potential future outdoor pickleball facilities, gauge public opinion on the potential of offering private reservations of public park courts, compare the use of these spaces by the general public versus members-only use through private court bookings, and assess the demand for indoor pickleball activities and facilities.
