Engagement:

How do you rate the City’s COVID-19 pandemic response? The public was invited to share their experience to help us grow and improve. An online survey was available from Oct. 17 - 31, and in-person focus group sessions were held on Nov. 24 & 26, 2022.

BACKGROUND

The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented global event that changed our lives. The City’s Municipal Emergency Control Group saw community partners come together to provide a joint response while City operations swiftly evolved to address community needs, staffing needs, and adapt to changing government regulations. The City saw non essential services close and reopen, adjustments to program and service delivery, physical changes in our facilities, evolving health and safety procedures, and ongoing communications to the public.

To review our pandemic response, we have employed the assistance of Emergency Management Group. This is an opportunity to learn what was successful and where there can be improvement for future emergency management.

NEXT STEPS

All feedback will be compiled by Emergency Management Group and incorporated into their final report for the City. We have the needed processes and resources in place to jump into response mode again if required. This analysis report will help to enhance our response to future situations. We also recognize that all responses will be dictated by the situation and provincial guidelines.

Thank you for getting involved.
