    I have the pleasure…

    by Kimo, 10 months ago

I have the pleasure of meeting a diverse array of individuals in Thunder Bay—some were my friendly neighbors, some were fellow enthusiastic colleagues, and some were engaging classmates. Each person I encountered showed incredible warmth and treated me with kindness.

We often bonded over shared interests and activities, like invigorating hikes amidst the stunning natural scenery that Thunder Bay has to offer. We also enjoyed the friendly competition of bowling and the delightful experience of dining out at various restaurants in the area.

I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have crossed paths with such wonderful people and to be residing... Continue reading

A Diverse and Welcoming Community city-Thunder Bay

    by Ava, 10 months ago

Upon arriving in Canada, I carefully selected Thunder Bay as my new place of residence. Currently, I reside in close proximity to the city hall terminal. The community here is a melting pot of various nationalities, including Canadians, Indians, Filipinos, and more. What captivates me about this locale is the efficient transportation system, making my daily life more convenient. Additionally, my neighbors consistently greet me with warm smiles.

One of my neighbors kindly introduced me to a nearby park and recommended ideal locations to visit as summer approaches. Embracing the communal spirit, I participated in the neighborhood event this year... Continue reading

    Current river shows its kindness!

by The Kindness Cupboard , 11 months ago
My family has been lucky enough to host what we call the kindness cupboard for over a year now, I’m Current River. This is a cupboard people can access to help with food security, discreetly and anonymously. It operates on a leave what you can, take what you need basis. The kindness and support I have felt from the Current River community has been unreal. Together we are trying to make life a little easier for those who may be struggling. I’m honoured to be part of a community that shows such kindness.

    My neighbours

    by acovino, 11 months ago

I just got married and moved in with my husband this past June. One of the neighbours next door to us has been so welcoming that she would sometimes help us mow the lawn when ours isn't working. She also let's me visit her dogs when she puts them outside and I would share homemade treats with them. Some other great neighbours we have are the ones across the street from us, one of which attended my bridal shower and another our wedding. Overall, everyone in this new neighborhood is so friendly!

    Street Lights not Working

    by DianeB, 11 months ago
A few months ago I called the City because the lights on my block of the street were off for at least two weeks. Since no one else had called it was very dark at night. City workers came a few days later and put the lights back on again. This was a safety issue that I helped to resolve for the entire neighborhood.

    My neighbor is the best!

We moved into a new neighbourhood this summer and we are so lucky to have the most amazing neighbor! Upon our arrival in the neighbourhood, Jodean arrived at our door with fresh flowers and a cake! She came in and introduced herself, gave us some information on the neighbourhood and exchanged numbers so we can text her for any information. She is a perfect example of how to be an amazing neighbor! We feel welcomed and blessed:)

    Snow place like home

by Thunderbae , 11 months ago

One bitterly cold tbay winter morning, I awoke to find my car buried under a thick blanket of snow. Desperate to get to work, I struggled in vain to free it from its icy prison. When my neighbor saw me struggling, they showed up at my side with a shovel and I’ve scraper in hand. Together we managed to dig my car out and conquer the snowy obstacle. Without their help I would have been very late to work.

We recently moved in our new neighbourhood in Dawson Heights. Our street has so much excitement and spirit for all holidays! I can't say enough about how wonderful all our neighbours are in making Halloween and Christmas such a joy for the kids! #thanksneighbour
